The U.S. Secretary of Health stated that about 20% of the layoffs in the department were erroneous according to the efficiency department of the government.

Jin10 reported on April 4 that on April 3 local time, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert Kennedy stated that about 20% of the layoffs in the Efficiency Department were erroneous and needed to be corrected. The Department of Health and Human Services laid off approximately 10,000 people on April 1. Kennedy indicated that personnel who should not have been laid off were indeed laid off, and the department is working to reinstate their positions. Kennedy mentioned that the decision to eliminate the entire lead poisoning prevention and monitoring department of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was one of the mistakes. It is currently unclear which other programs Kennedy may plan to reinstate.
