The Czech government resists attempts to overturn the $45 million Bitcoin scandal for the fourth time.

According to the Gate News bot and a report by CoinTelegraph, the Civic Democratic Party led by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala has withstood attempts to overthrow the government for the fourth time in three years — this time, the opposition united against them over a $45 million Bitcoin scandal.

The scandal revolves around a Bitcoin worth 1 billion Czech koruna (45 million USD). On May 27, Tomáš Jiřikovský, who was convicted of drug trafficking, arms crimes, and embezzlement, donated this amount to the Ministry of Justice.

The no-confidence motion put forward by the Czech opposition parties "National Unity Party" (ANO), "SPD" (SPD) and "Pirates" (Pirates) received only 94 votes, just seven votes short of the 101 votes needed for its passage.

The vote took place after more than 24 hours of debate in Parliament, the Czech Press newspaper reported on Monday. A vote of no confidence occurs when individuals or opposition parties believe that the current leadership is no longer able to govern the country effectively.

Although Fiala's party survived this vote of no confidence, the controversy has heightened concerns about how government officials may be involved in crypto-related activities that could conflict with their duties.

Recent controversies include U.S. President Donald Trump profiting from his numerous cryptocurrency investments, as well as Argentine President Javier Milei's involvement in the LIBRA token scandal.

Fiara stated that the $45 million Bitcoin donation could have been prevented and admitted that this incident has shaken public confidence in her political party.

Fiala stated in a Czech-English translation statement reported by the Czech News that the Civic Democratic Party will "take responsibility for unethical behavior."

However, in a post on Wednesday, X accused the opposition of using the debate to "spread defamation, insults, and lies" against his party.
