Ethereum early holders transfer $2.2 million worth of "genesis coins" after "holding coins" for 10 years.
Golden Finance reported that blockchain data shows an investor holding $2.2 million worth of Ether began to transfer these tokens on Monday after keeping them idle for nearly 10 years. The holder initially received these 900 ETH in 2015, when the price of Ethereum was less than 50 cents. These are the "Genesis Coins", which are digital tokens born in the first block of Ethereum. Before Ethereum officially enabled trading features, early contributors and developers of the project obtained these "pre-mined" ETH — at that time, its value was only a few cents.
