Golden Finance reported that Cipher Mining Inc. (NASDAQ:CIFR) announced that it has completed a transaction to acquisition a new power plant named Stingray in West Texas, with a 250-acre site approved and a facility expansion protocol signed for up to 100 megawatts after the power plant is initially powered at a floating cost of $1.5 per megawatt-hour for the first five years.
Cipher CEO Tyler Page said, "With the addition of this site, we now have a data center planned for deployment in 2026, which will complement the other new data centers planned for deployment in 2025 and 2027." With the addition of this new site, Cipher's active investment portfolio and development channels will total 2.6 GW across 11 sites.
