NBA Top Shot 2025–26 Season NFTs Add Digital Autographs and Limited Rookie Clips
The NBA, NBPA, and Dapper Labs have announced updates to NBA Top Shot for the 2025–26 season, introducing onchain highlight storage, new player partnerships, and digital autograph features for select rookies.
New NBA Top Shot Season Includes Rookie Signatures and Onchain Verification
The National Basketball Association (NBA), the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), and Dapper Labs have outlined new features for NBA Top Shot, the licensed digital collectibles platform built on the Flow blockchain.
The release shared with Bitcoin.com News explains that the 2025–26 season includes player partnerships with rookies such as Cooper Flagg and Yang Hansen, who will have digital autograph inscriptions and limited signature editions available on the platform.
Fewer than 5,000 rookie Moments tied to players such as Victor Wembanyama or Cooper Flagg will be released, a move the organizations say reflects collector demand for early-career player assets. The partnership between the NBA, NBPA, and Dapper Labs is positioned to maintain the digital record of these clips through the Flow blockchain network.
Each Moment, including dunks, assists, and game-winning shots, can be verified independently using blockchain identifiers. Dapper Labs CEO Roham Gharegozlou said the company aims to make highlights verifiable and to expand the availability of authenticated player content across the network.
NBA Top Shot continues to operate as one of several digital sports memorabilia platforms that use blockchain to track provenance and ownership. The 2025–26 updates place a technical focus on verifiability and player-linked digital assets rather than new product categories.
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and digital collectibles such as Top Shot have been on a three-year cold streak, still chasing the glory days of their early boom. NBA Top Shot’s valuations have fallen steeply from their 2021 peak and haven’t clawed back much ground, even after a series of platform tune-ups. The chill hasn’t stopped there—it’s rippled across the entire NFT space with Cryptopunks, Bored Apes, and Pudgy Penguins suffering the same.
