Ekubo Protocol was hacked through an access control vulnerability, resulting in the theft of $1.4 million worth of WBTC, according to blockchain security firm Blockaid. Ekubo Protocol recently suffered a loss of approximately $1.4 million in wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) after an attacker exploited a flaw in its EVM swap router contract. The attacker bypassed the payment verification mechanism and transferred funds from wallets that had previously been granted token approval to the affected router contract. Security monitoring service Cyvers found that the main victims lost about 17 WBTC, which was subsequently converted into WETH and DAI. Ekubo's core Starknet deployment was unaffected.
