Just saw some interesting data on XRP wallet distribution that got me thinking about how many XRP holders are actually out there. Someone posted a breakdown showing that the average holding across wallets is around 12,350 XRP, but here's the thing - that number is heavily skewed by the whales at the top. With XRP currently trading at $1.43, that average works out to roughly $17,660 per wallet, which is still well above the 1,000 XRP mark that people often talk about as a serious position. The distribution chart shows over 1.3 million wallets sitting with 20 XRP or less, and another 2.3 million holding between 20 and 500 XRP. Meanwhile, only 5 wallets hold over 1 billion XRP each, with that top tier controlling more than 7.4 billion XRP combined. It's a pretty classic concentration pattern - the bulk of XRP holders are actually small retail players, but the whale wallets are so massive they pull the average way up. The data reveals roughly 7.8 million active XRP holders across different balance ranges, and the gap between the retail tier and institutional-sized positions is pretty stark. Most people in the community were debating whether that average even matters, given how concentrated the holdings are. Definitely worth paying attention to if you're trying to understand the actual distribution of XRP holders and where retail players fit into the bigger picture.
