O Daily Planet News Taiko protocol was launched at the end of May, aiming to provide users with cheaper and faster transactions than the Ethereum mainnet. Since its launch, Taiko has spent up to $900,000 to purchase Blobs and transfer users' transactions to the Ethereum network in less than two weeks, while its competitors like Optimism spend less than $1,000 on Blob fees per day. Blob was launched in March as part of the Ethereum upgrade and is a new resource for L2 networks, allowing for lower-cost Ethereum transactions. Daniel Wang, CEO of Taiko Labs, explained, "Taiko has just launched its mainnet and there are still many things to be resolved before stability. Currently, we use more blobs than other L2s, which is a design decision, not a bug." (Decrypt)
