Damn, I took a nap and woke up to see BTC jump straight from 84k to 93k.

In just two days, it surged 11%.

The community is boiling over. Some are shouting that the bull market is back and rushing to go long, others are saying to go all-in and ride it to the end.

A buddy of mine who's been trading for five years suddenly messaged me: "Don't get too excited yet, something's off about this rebound."

I asked him what's up.

He said: "Look, everywhere you turn, people are talking about buying the dip. But have you thought about—"

"This pump, is it institutions accumulating, or are retail traders left holding the bag?"

That really got me thinking.

Institutions buying = real rebound, you can hop in. Retail buying = fake rebound, and you’re the one getting rekt.

How do you tell the difference?

He said there are three key data points that can reveal it.

He told me about two of his experiences. In May 2021, BTC crashed from $64,000 to $30,000, then rebounded to $42,000.

Everyone thought it had bottomed out. He did too, and went all-in at $42,000.

And then?

BTC kept sliding all the way down to $17,500, and he got liquidated and forced out.

By November 2022, when BTC dropped to $16,000, he had already learned to watch those three signals.

This time, he built his position in batches at $16,000 and held steady.

Half a year later, BTC climbed to $30,000, and he cashed out, more than doubling his money.

Both times buying the dip, why did he lose big once and double his money the other time?

Because he figured out how to use data to tell the difference between real and fake rebounds.

Retail traders only watch the price go up and down,

To be honest, what exactly are these three signals? Stop keeping us in suspense, man.

Here we go again? The myth of real or fake rebounds—let’s be honest, it all comes down to betting on human nature. Wait, did your buddy really double his money with just three data points? Or is he just another hindsight expert? Why does it feel like everyone’s saying the same thing these days? So many people jumping in as soon as it pulls up to 93k. Gotta say, retail investors never go out of style.

It's the same old rhetoric again. Is it one data point or three data points? Why not just say it directly?

Are those three data points really the key to identifying a true rebound? It just feels like another trick to me.

Here we go again? I don't care if it's a real rebound or not, I just want to know when those three data points will actually be discussed.
