According to a report by Webmaster's Home on August 17, McKinsey & Company, one of the largest consulting organizations, launched a new generative AI tool Lilli, a new chat application designed for employees by McKinsey's "ClienTech" team under the leadership of Chief Technology Officer Jacky Wright. program. Based on more than 100,000 documents and interview records, the tool provides information, insights, data, plans, and even recommends the best internal experts for consulting projects. According to the underlying technology, Lilli uses currently available LLMs, including LLM developed by McKinsey partner Cohere and OpenAI on the Microsoft Azure platform, to support its GenAI Chat and natural language processing (NLP) capabilities. The app was built by McKinsey and acts as a security layer between the user and the underlying data. Erik Roth, a senior partner at McKinsey, emphasized that McKinsey has nothing to do with the underlying "LLM" and is constantly exploring new LLM and AI models that provide the greatest utility, including older versions that are still being maintained. While the firm hopes to expand its use to all employees, Erik Roth also said McKinsey does not rule out white labeling Lilli and turning it into an external product used by McKinsey clients or other firms. Additionally, Erik Roth and his partners at McKinsey said that Lilli, which has been in beta since June 2023, will be fully rolled out at McKinsey this fall.
