Trump predicts: US-Iran talks may take place "within the next two days" in Pakistan
US President Donald Trump has revealed to foreign media that the US-Iran peace negotiations, which are influencing global geopolitical stability, are expected to take place “within the next two days” in Pakistan.
(Background summary: Iran has sent two consecutive UN protest letters: accusing the US of serious sovereignty violations and demanding compensation from five Gulf countries including the UAE.)
(Additional background: The US and Iran negotiation teams have facilitated a “second meeting,” but details such as schedule and location are yet to be finalized.)
As the world closely watches the Middle East situation, President Donald Trump has once again provided the latest update on the US-Iran negotiations.
According to The New York Post, Trump gave a clear timetable for the upcoming peace talks during an interview on Tuesday, revealing that the “historic negotiations” “may take place in Pakistan within the next two days”, indicating that the final countdown for the delegations’ confrontation has begun.
At the same time, Trump also told The New York Post that the negotiations “are ongoing, but progress is somewhat slow.” He praised Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir as “very excellent” and believed that Pakistan has played an important role in the overall mediation process. Additionally, Trump prefers to continue arranging subsequent talks in Pakistan rather than moving to other international cities like Geneva.
On the other hand, Pakistan has proactively offered to host the second round of talks, hoping to push for substantive progress before the current ceasefire deadline expires; reports also indicate that Iran has expressed willingness to continue dialogue.
