Boeing says it will take several weeks to fully restore production after the strike
The November 13th Golden Ten Data reports that on November 12th local time, Boeing stated that it would take several weeks to fully resume aircraft production due to the return of factory workers to their positions after nearly two months of strike. A Boeing spokesperson said that the latency in resuming production at the Washington and Oregon factories in the United States is due to the need to take multiple steps to restore production. Each employee will be informed of their responsibilities and safety requirements upon returning to the company, and the company will ensure that training certificates are up to date. It is reported that the strike was due to the breakdown of negotiations between Boeing and the labor union over the renewal of the contract. In mid-September, Boeing employees voted to reject the proposed wage package, after which about 33,000 employees went on strike. Last week, employees voted to accept Boeing’s contract invitation and return to work before November 12th. The strike led to the suspension of production of Boeing 737 Max, 777, and 767 aircraft.
