He pointed out that the expected spending cuts should be sufficient to meet the UK's fiscal rules. However, in the case where "fiscal maneuvering space is extremely limited", any misstep leading to a negative reaction in UK bonds, or a significant drop in expectations for UK economic rise, could impact the British pound.
