A new proposal in Canada's province of New Brunswick would restrict new crypto miners from doing business, with the proposal prohibiting power distribution companies from providing electricity to crypto mining operations, Gold Finance reported. The proposal was put forward by the Minister of Natural Resources and Energy Development, Mike Holland, although it does not apply to businesses that contract before legislation is likely to be passed.
New Brunswick Governor Blaine Higgs signed a cabinet order in March 2022 supporting the freezing of new crypto miner services, as previously reported by CBC.
