As reported by Webmaster House on October 24, a study shows that the reliability of Wikipedia can be improved through artificial intelligence (AI). The study was conducted by a London-based AI company that developed a system called SIDE, which aims to improve Wikipedia's reliability by examining its sources, identifying its accuracy, and providing their own recommendations. The SIDE system's workflow involves sending Wikipedia's claims to the Sphere retrieval engine, which produces potential candidate documents, which then rank those documents and original citations by the validation engine. If the original reference is not ranked above the candidate document, the SIDE system suggests a new reference. This helps fix possible information accuracy issues in Wikipedia. In addition, the study found that users preferred the SIDE system's recommendations about 70% of the time, with the side suggesting the same initial citations provided by Wikipedia.

Cryptocurrency miner Gryphon Digital is seeking to dismiss a lawsuit brought by its former partner Sphere 3D over a spoofing attack that resulted in the theft of 26 bitcoins, Golden Finance reports. According to an initial complaint filed by Sphere 3D in April, Gryphon CEO Rob Chang allegedly wired 18 BTC to scammers posing as Sphere 3D’s chief financial officer in a spoofing attack in January. Within a few days, 8 more bitcoins were sent to the same address, resulting in a total loss of over $500,000 at the time. However, Sphere’s complete lack of attention to the protection, security and control of its technology systems resulted in Gryphon sending more than $500,000 worth of bitcoin to scammers, according to Gryphon’s Aug. 18 court filing, while Gryphon cannot recover these bitcoins.

$ADA$ HYSTERIA (PART 3) Adding fuel to the fire, the SEC, in its recent spat with US crypto exchanges, slapped ADA with the 'security' tag. This may well be sparking the uptick in transaction volumes as panic selling sets in. The number of ADA whales has dwindled from 158 to 142, accounting for a 3% drop in the total token supply. Now, retail investors are filling the void left by their departure, indicating a changing of the guard, as the big fish offload their tokens onto the small fry. According to data by Gate.io cryptocurrency exchange, daily active addresses have shot up by 41.5% in the last week, thanks to a flurry of DeFi activity that's pushed the Total Value Locked (TVL) to annual highs. Total ADA addresses are also on the rise, signalling an influx of Cardano virgins alongside those keen on spreading their assets across multiple wallets. Interestingly, Twitter sentiment is resoundingly pro-ADA, with the tweet sphere buzzing with over 12,000 positive tweets versus a paltry 1,500 negative ones.
