S&P: Trump caused $1.2 trillion in tariff costs, with consumers bearing the brunt.

On October 17, Jin10 reported that S&P predicts that by 2025, Trump's tariff policy will cost global businesses approximately $1.2 trillion, with consumers expected to bear most of the burden. In a White Paper released on Thursday, S&P stated that this estimate is based on data analysis from around 15,000 analysts covering 9,000 companies, and the results may be conservative. The report found that only about one-third of the total costs will be absorbed by businesses, while the remaining two-thirds will ultimately be passed on to consumers through higher prices and lower output.
