The list of the final five candidates for the new chairman of the Fed has been released.

On October 27, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bentsen confirmed on Monday that the list of five final candidates to replace Fed Chairman Powell has been released, and he said he expects Trump to make a decision by the end of the year. Bentsen told reporters aboard Air Force One on Monday that the candidate pool has narrowed to current Fed Governors Waller and Bowman, former Fed Governor Warsh, White House National Economic Council Director Hassett, and BlackRock executive Reed. Bentsen, who is responsible for interviewing candidates for the position, reiterated his plan to conduct a new round of interviews and hopes to present Trump with an “excellent candidate list” after the Thanksgiving holiday. Trump himself also told reporters that he expects to make a decision on the nominee by the end of the year. (Jin10)
