Hey guys, come and take a look, the country is calling you to lose weight! Obesity is really making it difficult for healthcare to cope! The weight management guidelines released by our country predict that in 5 years, the obesity rate in China will reach 70%, which means that 7 out of every 10 Chinese people will be overweight. Moreover, authoritative data shows that there are already 400 million overweight people in China, making it the highest in the world.
We used to say that there are many fat people in America, but actually, Americans weren't fat before. It wasn't until the 1970s that they developed a black technology, which was the use of corn to make syrup. The American Great Plains were abundant in corn at that time, and once this was done, sugar became as cheap as free. All Americans were very happy at that time: the public enjoyed sugar, farmers made money, and the government collected taxes. Everyone was very pleased for several years. It wasn't until the 21st century that they realized something was wrong: out of five Americans, two were overweight, and the incidence of diabetes and related diseases increased sevenfold. Then, when they calculated, the money made from growing corn didn't even cover the costs. Because an overweight person spends twice as much on medical expenses over their lifetime compared to someone of normal weight. The American healthcare system is already very expensive, and treating obesity now costs $1.4 trillion a year. How long would it take to earn back that money just from selling this syrup and corn? And this money isn't a one-time expense; it needs to be spent every year.
So now our country has realized that it's not really about being afraid of you eating a few more bites of rice; it's just that treating diseases is really too expensive. Obesity definitely means illness, and treating illnesses means spending money. And this money has to come from health insurance. If this national weight loss plan can succeed, and if the number of obese people can be reduced by half, China could save hundreds of billions in economic losses each year, possibly allowing for a new growth cycle to emerge more quickly. Reducing weight for the country can be said to be urgent!!!
