According to reports, it has been learned that the Hong Kong police launched law enforcement actions from April 7 to 17, arresting 503 people for fraud and money laundering crimes, involving 404 cases of fraud and technology crimes, with a total amount of 1.56 billion HKD. The police, in conjunction with mainland public security, dismantled two cross-border crime syndicates: one recruited puppet members to come to Hong Kong to purchase gold jewelry to launder the proceeds of fraud from the mainland, involving 240 cases from the mainland and an amount of 18.5 million RMB; the other provided fake documents to open puppet accounts, with 12 people arrested in the mainland for a fake document factory and 4 in Hong Kong, involving 61 local fraud cases and an amount of 26.7 million HKD. In addition, the police discovered a fraud center set up in an industrial building in Tsuen Wan, where victims were lured through online dating platforms to open online stores on fake e-commerce platforms, depositing Virtual Money, resulting in 11 arrests.
