1. Pectra Hard Fork Establishes Long-Term Foundation
The Pectra hard fork implemented in May 2025 introduces account abstraction (EIP-7702) and staking optimization (EIP-7251), allowing ordinary users to pay Gas fees with ERC-20 tokens and increasing the validator staking limit from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH, significantly improving network efficiency. This upgrade has driven the ETH staking rate from 11% before the Merge to 42%, with an annualized return of 4.8%.
