In 2026, Ethereum will undergo a key upgrade, with the Glamsterdam and Hegota forks significantly boosting network scalability. The Glamsterdam fork will enable parallel processing, increasing the gas limit to 200 million from the current 60 million. Meanwhile, validators will shift towards verifying zero-knowledge proofs (ZK), paving the way for Ethereum L1 to achieve a target of 10,000 transactions per second. The number of data blocks will also increase, with each block expected to accommodate over 72 data blocks, further enhancing L2 transaction processing capacity. (Cointelegraph)
