Having navigated the ups and downs of cryptocurrency trading over the years, I’ve realized a frequently overlooked rule: the more complex the trading logic, the faster the losses. During the process of growing from $30,000 to $10 million, I discovered that the real secret to success isn’t insider information or talent, but extreme simplification of execution.
My capital growth trajectory is quite interesting: it took 2 years to go from $30,000 to $1.2 million, just 1 year to reach $6 million, and only 5 months to hit $10 million. It seems like I accelerated, but the truth is quite the opposite — my trading frequency has been steadily decreasing.
**Core Methodology**
First, catch breakout opportunities of the N-shaped pattern. When the market strongly advances and then consolidates with decreasing volume, followed by a volume surge and breakout, that’s the clearest entry signal. Breakouts are to be entered immediately, and stop-losses are to be triggered if support is broken. I avoid complex leverage add-on or averaging down strategies; I stick to the most straightforward buy and sell logic.
Second, strictly follow two ironclad rules. Set a 2% stop-loss and a 10% take-profit — that’s the entire rule set. Don’t bother drawing complicated trendlines or obsessing over various technical indicators. In fact, a 35% win rate is enough to generate stable returns. The problem is many traders always try to break the rules in pursuit of perfection, but end up sinking into a loss trap.
Third, focus only on one moving average. I use the 20-day moving average, with a lighter color to reduce subjective judgment interference. Spend just 5 minutes each day scanning the 4-hour chart; if a signal appears, place an order. If no signal, turn off the device. This approach doesn’t affect quality of life and allows for stable market opportunities without anxiety or overtrading.
Fourth, withdraw profits promptly to lock in gains. When funds reach $1.2 million, withdraw the principal. When reaching $6 million, take out half for conservative allocation, leaving only the portion that can withstand losses in the market. This helps maintain psychological safety and prevents being completely swallowed by the market.
**Why Simple Strategies Are More Effective**
Many people think this approach is “silly,” but in the crypto market, following rules and regulations is actually the strongest competitive advantage. There’s no need to chase every wave; just focus on markets you understand. Complexity only leads to confusion, while disciplined execution is the ultimate trait of winners.
Having emerged from the darkness of the crypto world, I want to pass this light to those still exploring. If you’re tired of complicated indicators and staying up late watching the charts, and want to steadily advance in the crypto market, simple strategies combined with strict discipline are the way to wealth.
