As of the new year, the rules for bank transfers in Turkey are changing. All transfers over 200,000 lira will require an explanation of the transaction—this decision will be implemented as part of efforts to combat illegal betting and financial crimes.
The rule applies not only at branches but also to all transfers made via ATMs, mobile applications, and internet banking. In other words, if you want to send money, you will be required to explain what you are doing or why you are sending it.
Such practices are becoming increasingly common in the global financial system. From the users' perspective, those trading in the digital asset market are also likely to face similar responsibilities.
