Today I went to Famen Temple with my family.
I saw firsthand the Shakyamuni Buddha finger relic that has traveled over 2500 years, which the Tang Dynasty's eight emperors mobilized the entire nation to honor, and the only one in the world widely recognized by the Buddhist community.
On the way back, we also visited the tomb of Ban Gu, the compiler of the Book of Han. Xi'an is truly a land full of cultural and historical treasures.
Staring at K-lines every day, scrolling through posts about others making money, everyone feels anxious. But in the face of such historical relics, you'll suddenly realize that our worries about fluctuations and rises and falls are so insignificant in the long river of time, almost like a speck of dust.
Investment is essentially a form of cultivating the mind. Our pursuit of "unity of knowledge and action" is actually not much different from cultivation.
Walking around places like Famen Temple, your mind becomes calm, and your horizons broaden. Recently, I've often thought of Munger and his advocacy of long-termism. If you can view your holdings with a historical perspective, you'll be able to endure the current boredom and loneliness.
Slow is fast; quiet is strength. Xi'an truly deserves its reputation as a place of spiritual cleansing. May everyone find their own steadiness amid the restless market.
