NewJeans Incident Summary: Court rules in favor of ADOR, Danielle is terminated, the five-member full lineup's dream shattered
The NewJeans incident has finally come to a conclusion. Last month, the court ruled in favor of ADOR (, the former management company of NewJeans, under HYBE Entertainment ). After the two members Haerin and Hyein returned, today ADOR announced that among the remaining three members, Hanni has expressed a more objective view of the entire incident. After sincere communication, she decided to respect the court’s ruling and rejoin the company.
Minji is still in communication with the company. However, ADOR has confirmed the termination of the contract with member Danielle and will pursue legal responsibility against Min Hee-jin. HYBE’s stock closed at 320,000 KRW, up 0.31% for the day.
Final results:
Hyein: Rejoined
Haerin: Rejoined
Hanni: Rejoined
Minji: In communication
Danielle: Contract terminated, legal responsibility pursued.
It is also confirmed that NewJeans cannot fully reunite as a five-member group.

The court ruled in favor of ADOR, with Haerin and Hyein announcing their return.
The lawsuit between NewJeans and ADOR was decided last month, with the court ruling in favor of ADOR. NewJeans stated they would respect the verdict but also decided to appeal. At that time, all five members firmly stated that the trust between both sides had been broken and they had no intention of returning to the company.
However, just two hours after ADOR issued a statement that NewJeans members Haerin and Hyein would return to continue activities, the other three members—Hanni, Minji, and Danielle—unilaterally decided to rejoin ADOR. They stated: “One member was in Antarctica, which caused communication delays, and ADOR had not yet responded, so we had to issue our position first.”
Regarding the unilateral return declaration of the three members, ADOR was shocked and said: “We are currently verifying the true intentions behind the three members’ return statements.”
Latest update on the NewJeans incident: It is confirmed that a full five-member reunion is impossible.
Full text of ADOR’s official announcement:
Since the court confirmed the validity of the exclusive contract, ADOR has held multiple discussions with Minji, Hanni, Danielle, and the families of the three members. Hanni brought her family to Korea, where they engaged in long and in-depth conversations with ADOR. During the process, they reviewed the past and tried to view the entire incident more objectively. After sincere communication, Hanni decided to respect the court’s ruling and face the upcoming arrangements together with ADOR. Minji is also in ongoing discussions with ADOR to deepen mutual understanding.
Given that Danielle is both a member of NewJeans and an artist under ADOR, and after evaluation, it was deemed difficult to continue working together. The company has today notified her of the termination of her exclusive contract. Additionally, regarding the family member of Danielle (one person) who caused the controversy and was largely responsible for the delays in NewJeans’ departure and return, as well as former representative Min Hee-jin, the company will pursue legal action.
During communication, ADOR discovered that members had long been receiving distorted and biased information, leading to many misunderstandings and disputes with the company. The company and artists reached a consensus that, in order to regain fans’ and the public’s trust and affection, although it may take time, all misunderstandings should be clarified based on accurate facts. Furthermore, any disputes arising during the controversy will be addressed externally at an appropriate time and manner in the future. Discussions are ongoing regarding the timing and approach.
Hyerin’s father is involved in a custody battle with his wife
According to Korean media reports, Hyerin’s father is the only one opposed. Since Hyerin is a minor, her parents have had disagreements over custody, even going to family court. After the court announced ADOR’s victory last month, Hyerin and Haerin were the only two members who had negotiated their return with the company. Internally, there was suspicion of division within NewJeans, with the other three members seemingly unaware of Hyerin and Haerin’s return. Only after the two announced their return did the others unilaterally declare their own.
Fans of NewJeans are also divided. Some believe that only the five members together constitute NewJeans, while others support the members continuing their activities. As of today, ADOR’s official statement confirms that Hyerin, Haerin, and Hanni will return. Minji’s relationship with the company has become more neutral, and Danielle’s contract has been definitively terminated with the company demanding termination fees. Former producer Min Hee-jin, who restarted her career, is also being held legally responsible.
