Mars Finance reports that on December 29, Russian police detained 7 employees affiliated with “Russian Grid Moscow Region” (Россети Московский регион), suspected of assisting illegal cryptocurrency mining operations within the Moscow region. The arrested individuals hold positions ranging from ordinary electricians to senior engineers. Investigators stated that these employees of the power company provided paid “services” to illegal mining farms, including artificially lowering meter readings, helping to evade plans, and conducting temporary inspections. According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, these activities have caused preliminary economic losses of approximately 10 million rubles. (Bits media)
