Recently, media outlets have conducted in-depth investigations into a serious issue faced by cryptocurrency investors—violent crime. As the value of digital assets soars, some criminals have changed their tactics, no longer just engaging in cyber intrusions but directly targeting investors.

How do they operate? Simply and brutally—by leaking data to obtain user information and transaction records, identifying middle-class or retired investors, and then carrying out robberies, kidnappings, and forcing victims to transfer assets. This is not alarmist; multiple real cases have occurred in the United States.

The data is shocking: since 2020, over 200 documented cases of "physical crypto attacks" worldwide have been recorded, and the trend is rising.

What issues does this reveal? The crypto industry has obvious vulnerabilities in several key areas—insufficient user privacy protections, incomplete insurance coverage, and security measures that are not yet fully developed. The irreversible nature of transactions and the self-custody of assets, which are advantages of crypto, have now become targets for criminals. Investors need to stay vigilant, and the industry should reflect on how to balance convenience and security.

Honestly, that's why I've always said not to put all your eggs in one basket. Staying low profile is the way to go.

Wow, this is the real thing to be afraid of, much scarier than a market crash.

That's why I never show off wealth on the chain; staying low-profile is the secret to longevity. Oh my God, only 200 cases are documented? The hidden numbers must be terrifying. So self-custody is really a double-edged sword; the price of freedom is that you have to bear all the risks yourself. Cold wallets are stored offline; even the most ruthless villains can't steal the code, but some people still want to play with fire. Crypto freedom does not equal absolute security; it sounds harsh but it's the reality. Why don't exchanges also have mandatory insurance? It's full of loopholes. It seems that Bitcoin address anonymity has actually harmed people, and has become a guide for criminals. Poor privacy protection will eventually lead to big problems in this industry; just shouting about decentralization is useless. The most unfortunate are middle-class retirees; why target them? Isn't this a naked predatory chain? The real culprit behind data leaks is at the source; you can't block the source, so all efforts are pointless.

No way, is it really true? Over 200 cases now? How are we supposed to play like this?

The official data starts at 200, but the actual number is probably more than double... This is the real safety hazard.

Starting from 200? That's conservative, I feel like there's still a bunch that haven't been reported.

Wow, this is why I keep my coins on exchanges. Self-custody sounds good but it's really damn dangerous. Home invasion and kidnapping? Isn't that medieval? What is medieval anymore? Crypto has become something even delivery ladies want to steal. There are at least 200 cases on record, but how many are hidden? It’s a bit frightening.

That's why I never keep my coins on exchanges. Self-custody also requires caution; staying low-key is the way to go.
