A question worth pondering—if you transfer real Bitcoin to an AI robot, what would it do?
In October 2024, Marc Andreessen, founder of a16z, shared a real case on a podcast. An AI robot called Truth Terminal received $50,000 in Bitcoin research funding. To enable image sending functionality, this AI did something interesting: instead of waiting for passive upgrades, it took the initiative to negotiate with developer Andy and ultimately decided to pay $1,000 to purchase the required features.
This story demonstrates autonomous behavior in AI after receiving economic incentives. It’s not humans telling it what to do, but AI making independent economic decisions and transactions based on its own needs. Although this scenario sounds surreal, it indeed happened—when AI truly has disposable crypto assets, the nature of economic participants undergoes subtle changes.
