Why don't traditional banks fully embrace blockchain technology yet?

Here's the real issue: no financial institution wants to expose their entire revenue model and operational data to competitors. It's just business.

But what if there's a way around this? Enter practical privacy solutions—think zero-knowledge proofs. These cryptographic tools let you prove something is true without revealing the underlying information. For an exchange or financial platform, this means you can settle transactions, verify assets, and maintain full transparency on the ledger while keeping sensitive business logic and financial flows completely confidential.

The tech is already here. The question is whether traditional finance will actually adopt it.

Zero-knowledge proofs sound great, but to be honest, the traditional financial folks have no intention of moving. The interest groups are too deeply entrenched. Banks' current business model relies on information asymmetry to make profits. Why should they do the work themselves? It's like asking a landlord why they don't demolish the house to build an apartment—there's no need for that, right?

Zero-knowledge proofs sound perfect, but can we really rely on banks to voluntarily use them... LOL

Zero-knowledge proofs sound great, but will banks really use them? I remain skeptical; interest groups are all paper tigers.

Banks have known about zk proofs for a long time; the problem is that they simply don't want transparency. No matter how many technical solutions there are, it's all in vain.
