Recently, an interesting detail has surfaced: as early as July 2025, Powell submitted a 4-page formal briefing to the Senate Banking Committee, clearly outlining all the details of the Federal Reserve's $2.5 billion headquarters renovation project—how costs were structured, why there were overruns, which projects were halted, how audits and oversight were conducted, everything laid out clearly.

Even more interesting is the timing: this briefing was sent over just two weeks after he attended a congressional hearing on June 25. In other words, before the allegations of "misleading Congress" emerged later, detailed information had already been presented openly.

Consider this logic: if the Senate had already received the complete briefing early on, how could the "deliberate concealment" accusation hold? Powell's implication is essentially—I've said everything I need to, and it's up to you to choose to ignore it.

This situation has become quite awkward. Originally, such matters should have been handled quietly: budget issues, investigations, adjustments, and when the term ends, just move on—each side gets what they need. But after political maneuvering intensified, the nature of the issue changed entirely. Now, the question on the table is no longer "whether to continue," but rather a principled debate over "whether we can just walk away."

The situation has become quite interesting—neither side can afford to back down, waiting to see who will blink first. From a "budget dispute" to a "stand-off," such deadlock usually doesn't resolve quickly. The next developments are worth watching.
