The wealth mindset in the crypto world is extremely dangerous (you can't wake up from it).

The first time I saw this phrase in a crypto trading community, I stared at the screen in a daze for a long time. Isn't it talking about me? It describes the days I've been deeply immersed in over the past three years.

Honestly, during these three years, most of my clear-headed time, besides work, was spent watching coin price K-lines and various crypto communities. It all started when a friend added me to a group, where I saw daily screenshots of "earning over ten thousand a day," KOLs shouting "missed out on hundredfold coins, kicking myself," I couldn't resist the temptation, and with my savings of 50,000 yuan accumulated over two years, I jumped in. First, I followed the trend and bought mainstream coins, watching my account float with a few thousand yuan in profit, and that excitement completely hooked me. Later, I chased hot new coins, from metaverse concepts to various air coins. As long as someone in the community shouted "go all in," I couldn't help but follow suit and add to my position.

The craziest time was when I believed "inside information" and invested my entire 200,000 yuan down payment for a house into a new coin claiming to be "about to be listed on a top exchange," even adding 10x leverage. On the day it launched, the coin price plummeted, nearly zeroing out in less than 20 minutes. My 200,000 yuan instantly shrank to just a few hundred. That night, I stared at my account balance trembling until dawn, but not long after, I saw someone in the community sharing a new profit order. I forgot the pain and once again invested several ten thousand yuan.

Until recently, while organizing my phone, I casually did some math: over these three years, I spent at least 4 hours every day browsing crypto communities, monitoring charts, analyzing KOLs. Sometimes, when the market was volatile, I stayed up until 2 or 3 a.m. It adds up to 4,380 hours, or exactly 182 days. This doesn't include the nights spent tossing and turning due to market anxiety, or the mental energy drained by "missing out" or "liquidation" emotions.

4380 hours is enough time to change one's life. It could have allowed me to systematically learn a finance course, obtain a highly valuable certification, or even make my side business flourish. As I initially planned, if I had used this time to focus on my main career or hone a skill, my life today would be entirely different.

However, greed is easy to awaken, and the inner demon is hard to eliminate. The "wealth poverty" in the crypto world has never disappeared; it just wears the guise of "get-rich-quick myths," trapping one after another impatient and profit-driven person. With just a little attention, you'll notice that all kinds of crypto communities are filled with voices tempting you—KOLs' "signal calls," whales' "pump and dump," retail investors' "follow the trend"—forming a closed emotional trap. Just look at the data: hundreds of new coins go live every day, yet over 90% of tokens ultimately become "air coins," and those claiming "guaranteed profit" in contract trading are just gambling with risks magnified dozens of times.

Almost everyone around me, including myself, has lived in the illusion of the crypto world. Colleagues complain about low wages while pouring all their salary into contracts; friends living in rented houses costing 3,000 yuan a month dare to leverage 50 times for high-stakes gambling; even relatives who used to live steady lives have been brainwashed by the "mining wealth" myth, secretly investing in mining rigs behind their families' backs. We are all driven by the "get-rich-quick myth," kidnapped by the anxiety of "missing out equals losing," chasing prices up and down in highly volatile markets, ultimately becoming the "leeks" harvested by others.

This is probably what is called the "wealth view" in the crypto world. It's not true poverty, but in front of wealth, we live as "poor"—always believing that wealth can be obtained through shortcuts and speculation, willing to bet our time, money, and mental energy on those illusory "hundredfold returns."

You must know that heaven is truly fair, giving everyone the same amount of time and opportunities. But how you choose defines a completely different life. Is it wasting time and money on gambler-like speculation, manipulated by emotions and whales? Or saving up energy to invest in genuine growth and steady accumulation? I believe the answer is within you, in front of the screen. #Gate广场创作者新春激励 $BTC $ETH $GT
