The godfather of AI, Jensen Huang, gave a 90-minute speech at CES 2026, and here is a summary of his views on future trends. 1. AI is a new platform AI is no longer just an application, but a new generation of computing and business infrastructure like the Internet. AI is turning into a "new operating system" in which software and hardware run. 2. Software shifts from "writing code" to "training models" The software of the future is increasingly trained from data, rather than hand-coded lines of code, which mainly run on GPUs, driving a comprehensive upgrade of the five-layer architecture of chips, systems, networks, clouds, and applications. 3. Tens of trillions of dollars in industrial opportunities AI will gradually "devour" the traditional computing market and drive the digital transformation of manufacturing, transportation, energy, medical and other industries, forming long-term investment and innovation opportunities with a scale of tens of trillions of dollars. 4. AI begins to truly "think" AI is moving from simple question-answering and generation to reasoning, memory, planning and decision-making capabilities, and will usher in a critical inflection point in the next few years, closer to the human way of "thinking". 5. Agent AI bursts AI will change from passively answering questions to "agents" that can actively plan tasks, consult data, simulate the future, and execute multi-step workflows, participating in workflows like virtual employees. 6. Physical AI is the next breaking point AI will move from the virtual world to the physical world, understanding physical laws such as gravity, friction, and space motion, thereby controlling automobiles, robots, and factory equipment, and promoting breakthroughs in autonomous driving, intelligent manufacturing, and other fields. 7. Autonomous driving is highly dependent on the simulated world, with limited real road data and difficult to cover dangerous scenarios, AI needs to be trained in a large number of simulation environments, using synthetic data to learn various extreme situations, and then migrate to reality to achieve safer and more natural autonomous driving. 8. Robots and the New Industrial Revolution In the future, factories, cities, and logistics will be deeply controlled by AI and robots, forming a new round of industrial revolution, helping society cope with labor shortages and improving production efficiency and automation. These trends are not independent of each other, but waves that are superimposed on each other. As AI moves from the virtual world to the physical world, from a conversational tool to a collaboration partner, the underlying logic of the entire technology industry is being rewritten.
