Odaily Planet Daily reports that journalist Stephanie Palazzolo from The Information posted on X, sharing internal recordings of Anthropic founder Dario Amodei.

Dario stated internally that the tension between Anthropic and the Trump administration stems from Anthropic’s refusal to curry favor with the current government — “The real reason is that we haven’t donated to Trump… We haven’t praised Trump in a dictatorial manner (unlike Sam Altman); we support AI regulation, which conflicts with their agenda; we have been honest on many AI policy issues (such as job displacement); we have truly stuck to our red lines instead of colluding to create so-called safety shows to appease employees.”

Stephanie commented that Dario’s mention of donations was likely a reference to OpenAI CEO Greg Brockman donating $25 million to Trump.
