"Spend 200, get 200 off"? Douban Apologizes: Operational Error, Truly Unbearable

On March 2nd early morning, netizens discovered that Douban was issuing large coupons, allowing users to stack discounts to achieve “spend 200, save 200,” which triggered a rush to buy. Several products sold by Douban Goods were shown as out of stock or discontinued.

At noon on the 2nd, Douban Goods issued an apology: due to operational errors, the promotion “Spend 200, save 20” in the early morning of March 2nd was mistakenly changed to “Spend 200, save 200.” The products were quickly bought out, resulting in a large number of abnormal orders.

Douban Goods stated that the abnormal order volume far exceeded their operational costs. “We truly cannot bear the huge losses caused by these abnormal orders sold at prices well below cost. We sincerely apologize and ask for your understanding.”

Douban Goods announced that all abnormal orders placed between 00:00 and 10:00 today will be automatically refunded in full through the original payment channels. “At the same time, we will issue a 20 yuan Douban Goods no-threshold red envelope to all users with automatic refunds, which can be used for future purchases.”

Regarding this mistake, Douban Goods expressed deep regret and self-blame. “We will comprehensively optimize our system, strengthen the operation supervision of our e-commerce module, and do our best to prevent such issues from happening again. Thank you all for your understanding and tolerance.”
