Source: 21st Century Business Herald Author: Lin Hanyi
On March 3rd, the Dalian Regulatory Bureau of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission issued an administrative licensing announcement, officially approving Li Jianying’s qualification to serve as Director and Chairman of China Netherlands Life Insurance. With this approval, Li Jianying will officially assume his duties as Chairman, while the former Chairman, Wang Jian, will no longer hold the position.
In fact, this personnel change was not without warning. As early as May 2025, Li Jianying had already been appointed Party Secretary of China Netherlands Life Insurance.
Public information shows that Li Jianying was born in 1971 and holds a master’s degree in Economics from Central University of Finance and Economics. From July 1994 to May 1996, he worked in the Enterprise Management Department of Beijing Jianzhong Machinery Factory. Since then, his career has been closely linked with Beijing Bank.
Since joining Beijing Bank (formerly Beijing City Cooperative Bank, Beijing Commercial Bank) in 1996, Li Jianying has gained nearly 30 years of experience within the bank system, rising from the grassroots to the core management team of Beijing Bank.
From June 1996 to June 1998, he served in the General Industry Business Development Department of Beijing City Cooperative Bank; from June 1998 to March 2003, he worked in the Personal Business Department of Beijing Commercial Bank’s head office.
After working in the general industry business department, Li Jianying moved to branch offices. From March 2003 to April 2004, he was Assistant Branch Manager at the You’anmen Branch of Beijing Commercial Bank; from April 2004 to January 2005, he served as Deputy Branch Manager at the You’anmen Branch; from January 2005 to May 2025, he successively served as Deputy Branch Manager of You’anmen Branch, Branch Manager of Yuetan Branch, and Branch Manager of Jianguo Branch.
After 2012, Li Jianying returned to the head office, serving successively as Assistant General Manager of the Corporate Banking Department, Deputy General Manager of the Personal Loan Management Department, General Manager of the Retail Banking Department, and Director of Retail Business. During this period, he also held positions such as Party Secretary of Urumqi Branch, Director of the Consumer Rights Protection Office, and General Manager of the Personal Credit Department. Since June 2021, he has served as Staff Supervisor.
From May 2025 to present, he has been Party Secretary of China Netherlands Life Insurance; since February 2026, he has been Chairman of China Netherlands Life Insurance.
Founded in November 2002, China Netherlands Life Insurance is one of the first Sino-foreign joint venture life insurance companies approved after China joined the WTO. Its headquarters is located in Dalian, with a registered capital of 3.57 billion yuan. As a typical bank-affiliated insurance company, Beijing Bank and the French Paris Insurance Group each hold 50% of the shares. According to the latest disclosed data, in 2025, China Netherlands Life Insurance achieved an insurance business income of 20.879 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36.78%; net profit reached 740 million yuan, an increase of 300%.
