[Caixin] The ongoing escalation of the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran has already affected the Middle East’s basic energy industry.

On March 4th, Bahrain Aluminum (Alba) announced force majeure, stating it would impact the fulfillment of its supply contracts. On the same day, Qatar Energy also declared force majeure risks to affected buyers.

Previously, on March 2nd and 3rd, Qatar Energy announced the suspension of production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and related products, as well as urea, polymers, methanol, aluminum, and other products. The shutdown was due to military attacks on the company’s operational facilities in Qatar.

Since the escalation of the US-Israel-Iran conflict on February 28th, the target of military strikes has extended from military bases to energy infrastructure.
