NY Taxi Insurer Failed to Defend Uber in Crash Cases, Judge Says
A US judge ruled in favor of Uber Technologies Inc., stating that American Transit Insurance Co. (ATIC), New York City’s largest taxi insurer, failed to defend Uber in 23 crash cases involving its drivers. The judge, Analisa Torres, found that ATIC breached its duty to defend and is now liable for resulting damages and Uber’s legal fees in these lawsuits.
