Abstract generation in progress

Today (March 7), the Long March 8甲 Yao Ba launch vehicle developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology was successfully transported at the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site. The rocket body was smoothly moved to Launch Pad 1, and a launch is planned to be scheduled soon.

The Long March 8甲 rocket being transported is an important upgraded model of the Long March 8 series. Its payload capacity to a 700 km sun-synchronous orbit has been increased to 7 tons. It is designed for high-density, rapid network deployment launches. Its maiden flight entered a high-frequency launch schedule, and it has successfully carried out 7 missions so far. It is a core launch vehicle for China’s satellite internet constellation.

It is understood that the Long March 8 series plans about 15 launches this year, including both the Long March 8甲 and Long March 8 rockets. The Long March 8 series is a new generation medium-lift liquid-fueled rocket. Since its first flight, it has become China’s main model for launching satellites into low and medium Earth orbits, thanks to its modular design, high cost-performance ratio, and quick response capabilities.
