Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies face Iran's escalation with U.S. support

In the context of the escalating military tensions in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries have strengthened their joint stance against Iranian regime attacks, with explicit support from the U.S. administration. President Donald Trump has maintained direct communications with regional leaders, reaffirming Washington’s commitment to the security of its strategic allies.

Saudi Arabia’s joint defense against the Iranian offensive

Saudi Arabia leads the Gulf countries’ response to missile attacks carried out by Iran. According to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, their air defenses successfully countered the military offensive. The kingdom issued a strong statement condemning these acts, calling them “serious attacks and blatant violations” that pose a direct threat to regional peace and sovereignty.

Saudi Arabia’s position aligns with that of other Gulf states affected indirectly. The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and the kingdom itself have seen their security compromised by these actions. Saudi Arabia has expressed solidarity with these states and called on the international community to adopt a clear and coordinated condemnation of the Islamic Republic.

Trump reaffirms Washington’s commitment to Gulf states

In a phone call with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Donald Trump expressed the United States’ condemnation of the Iranian attacks and emphasized that Washington fully supports the kingdom in taking defensive measures. The White House, through spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, confirmed that the U.S. president maintained direct contacts with top representatives of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

These nations host strategic U.S. military bases and are key components of America’s security architecture in the region. Trump also spoke with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, coordinating the international response. These contacts occurred after joint military strikes by the U.S. and Israel against Iranian facilities.

A firm Saudi stance in defense of regional sovereignty

Saudi Arabia has emphasized that Iran’s actions constitute a direct challenge to international law principles and pose a threat to regional stability. The kingdom stresses the importance of respecting national sovereignty and rejects any interference that jeopardizes the collective security of Gulf states.

Saudi authorities have expressed their willingness to cooperate with the international community to protect regional countries and ensure respect for international agreements. This position reflects a growing consensus among Saudi Arabia and its allies on the need for a coordinated and firm response to Iranian aggression, supported by Western powers such as the United States and multilateral institutions represented by NATO.
