Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng said at the press conference on the theme of people’s livelihood during the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress on March 7 that last year, the gross enrollment rate for high school education was 92%. A total of 1,300 new, renovated, and expanded high schools were built nationwide, creating an additional 1.49 million school places, giving more children the opportunity to attend high school.
