India has allowed the Iranian military ship IRIS Lavan to dock at its port, Bloomberg reported, citing an Indian official.

Iran urgently requested India to accept the ship on February 28, and the request was approved on March 1. Since March 4, it has been in the port of Kochi. 183 crew members are housed at local military bases, the Bloomberg source claims. India's Ministry of External Affairs described the permission for the ship to enter the port as a humanitarian act.

On March 4, an American submarine attacked the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Sri Lanka. The ship was returning to the Islamic Republic after participating in military exercises organized by India.
