Mexico-Cuernavaca Highway: Traffic disrupted due to multiple incidents
The Mexico-Cuernavaca highway remains congested these days due to various incidents that have caused partial closures and significant delays. There are disruptions in both directions following emergency services’ intervention to clear obstructions. Drivers are facing lane reductions and slowed traffic flow, especially during peak hours.
Critical situation on the Mexico-Cuernavaca route
On the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway, at kilometer 78 heading toward Cuernavaca, a truck with mechanical failure has already been cleared. After response teams’ intervention, traffic has returned to normal in this section, although monitoring continues to prevent new issues. This incident caused the biggest delays during the day.
Blockages on other regional highways
Beyond the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway, other segments are experiencing significant problems:
Libramiento Poniente Tampico has intermittent traffic at kilometer 12 due to a side collision requiring emergency response. CAPUFE reports slow movement in both directions.
Córdoba-Veracruz Highway is partially closed at kilometer 16 toward Córdoba. A truck with mechanical issues caused lane reductions. Traffic slows considerably at this point.
Cuernavaca-Acapulco Highway has an obstruction at kilometer 102 toward Acapulco. A fallen tree has reduced available passage. Emergency crews are working on removal.
Recommendations for traveling on these roads
Given these closures and blockages on the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway and other routes, it is essential to:
Emergency services continue to monitor these highways to ensure road safety. Although the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway has been normalized in critical points, stay cautious when traveling through the region.
