(MENAFN- UkrinForm) That is according to TASR, Ukrinform reports.

The government resolution states that Finance Minister Ladislav Kamenicke must take steps regarding the SEPS contract under which the company provided emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine.

However, the document does not specify what exact measures should be taken.

It is expected that the company will immediately terminate the contract between SEPS and Ukrenergo on emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine.

One of the conditions for terminating the contract is that the state of emergency in the oil sector – declared by the Slovak government on February 18 – remains in force. The government introduced this measure three weeks after oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline was halted following an attack on the pipeline on Ukrainian territory.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said earlier that emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine would be stopped starting February 23.

However, Ukrenergo stated that the possible suspension of emergency electricity supplies from Slovakia would not affect the situation in Ukraine’s unified energy system. The last time Ukraine requested emergency assistance from Slovakia was more than a month ago and in a very limited volume.
