**Auburn, Indiana **– DeKalb County Board of Commissioners (“DeKalb County”) announces a data incident that may have impacted individuals’ information. On or around September 25, 2025, DeKalb County became aware of unusual activity on its network and immediately began an investigation. The investigation determined that certain information maintained on DeKalb County’s network may have been copied by an unauthorized person between August 21, 2025, and September 25, 2025. The information varies by individual but may include an individual’s name in combination with one or more of the following: Social Security number, driver’s license number or identification card number, and/or financial account number. Upon discovering this incident, DeKalb County took steps to secure its network and remediate the incident and notified law enforcement. DeKalb County is also offering potentially impacted individuals’ access to credit monitoring and identity protection services.
