Iranian Foreign Minister discusses the Iran situation with Guterres in a phone call
People’s Financial News, March 11 — According to the Islamic Republic News Agency of Iran, Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian had a phone call with UN Secretary-General António Guterres on the evening of March 10 to discuss the latest developments regarding the US and Israel’s attacks on Iran. Abdollahian listed multiple “war crimes” committed by the US and Israel. He emphasized that civilian facilities such as schools, hospitals, residential areas, and historic sites in Iran have been deliberately targeted, openly violating international law and basic humanitarian principles. He called on the international community and relevant organizations to clearly condemn these actions. He stated that Iran’s counterattack against the US and Israel is within the framework of legitimate self-defense, based on recognized international law principles, and that protecting the safety of its citizens is an undeniable fundamental responsibility. The report said that Guterres, during the call, described the US and Israel’s attacks on Iran as clear and indisputable acts of aggression. He stressed the need to adhere to international law principles, prevent further escalation of the situation, and curb the spillover of conflict. (Xinhua News Agency)
