Anthropic Safety Lead Resigns Due to Ideological Differences

Anthropic’s Head of Security, Mrinank Sharma, recently announced his resignation on social media, stating that he cannot align with the company’s values and has decided to completely leave the tech industry. In his statement, Sharma mentioned that although he has made significant contributions to AI safety, the company’s actions under economic pressure no longer reflect his values. He emphasized the difficulty of maintaining ideals at work and said he plans to pursue further studies in poetry and philosophy after leaving. Sharma also pointed out that the world is facing multiple crises, not limited to the AI industry, but also influenced by geopolitical factors.
