Which ASIC is the most profitable? A complete analysis of the most efficient mining machines in 2025
At the current Bitcoin price, even small differences in equipment energy efficiency can bring quite impressive profits to miners with cheap electricity. We studied the top 50 ASIC miners according to asicminervalue.com for August 2025 and classified them into five profitability categories to help you find the most profitable option for specific tasks.
Absolute champions in profitability: full-power water cooling
If you’re looking for the most profitable ASIC without energy consumption restrictions, the answer is clear — it’s the Antminer S21e XP Hydro 3U from Bitmain. This monster delivers 860 TH/s at only 11,180 W, earning its operator $43.56 per day. Its absolute superiority is based on revolutionary direct chip cooling technology.
Following closely is the Teraflux AH3880 from Auradine — 600 TH/s, 8,700 W, $28.98/day. Auradine’s entry into the premium segment shows that Bitmain has a serious competitor in the field of water-cooled solutions. Both devices require significant capital investment in cooling systems but pay off due to unprecedented efficiency.
Powerful mid-range: choosing between Bitmain and Microbt
In the second price tier ($25–20 per day), competition becomes tighter. The Antminer S21 XP+ Hydro (500 TH/s, $25.81/day) remains the flagship of this segment, but it is challenged by the Sealminer A2 Pro Hydro from Bitdeer (500 TH/s, $24.87/day) and the Avalon A1566HA 2U from Canaan (480 TH/s, $23.44/day).
The latter proves that Canaan can hold its own against market leaders on their own turf (water cooling, high power density). Closing this category is the Whatsminer M63S++ from Microbt with 464 TH/s and $22.94/day revenue — a more affordable but still powerful option.
Balanced solutions: optimal between costs and income
For operators unwilling to spend on super cooling, the third level ($18–16/day) becomes the golden mean. Hybrid schemes dominate here:
The Whatsminer M63S (390 TH/s, $18.72/day) and Teraflux AI3680 (375 TH/s, $18.63/day) offer similar performance, but Microbt maintains a price advantage. The Antminer S21 Hydro (335 TH/s, $16.49/day) closes the category, remaining a worthy choice for medium-sized mining farms with existing infrastructure.
Budget option: immersion and air systems in action
In this range ($14–10/day), water cooling recedes, and alternative approaches take the stage. The Antminer S21 XP Immersion (300 TH/s, $15.12/day) shows that immersion cooling remains a viable niche. The Microbt Whatsminer M66S (298 TH/s, $14.31/day) and Canaan Avalon A1566I (261 TH/s, $12.69/day) occupy neighboring tiers, offering more modest but stable income.
Affordable yet reliable: entry point into industrial mining
Even in the beginner category ($9–4/day), equipment remains functional. The Microbt M33S++ (242 TH/s, $10.28/day), Avalon A15XP-206T (206 TH/s, $9.96/day), and Antminer T21 (190 TH/s, $9.08/day) confirm that even less powerful devices can generate steady, albeit modest, income.
Market structure and key players
Analysis of the ranking reveals an interesting market mosaic. Bitmain controls 46% of all listed models (23 units), Microbt holds 30% (15 models), and Canaan accounts for about 12% (6 models). Auradine, despite only two models in the top, has gained a reputation as an innovator thanks to outstanding efficiency.
Key trends shaping ASIC profitability in 2025
Water cooling as a premium standard. Water cooling technology has fully captured the top of the ranking. It allows manufacturers to achieve record high energy density per unit volume, which is critical for scaling operations.
Alternative methods maintain positions. Immersion and air cooling systems haven’t disappeared — they’ve just moved into the mid and lower price segments, where they remain economically viable for medium-sized farms.
Bitmain dominates, but competition is growing. The emergence of Auradine and the strengthening of Canaan and Microbt indicate a move away from monopoly. This is good news for consumers, who now have more options.
The simple conclusion: the most profitable ASIC depends on your investment capacity and infrastructure. If your budget is unlimited and you can install water cooling, the Antminer S21e XP Hydro 3U remains the king in absolute revenue. For others, choosing among the remaining four levels depends on your mining farm’s specific needs.
