IT Home, March 3 — Multiple U.S. media reports today state that Meta Platforms founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife recently purchased a super luxury mansion in Miami for $170 million.

The mansion is located on Indian Creek Island, a private island in Biscayne Bay, Miami — known as the “Billionaire Bunker.” This transaction set a new record for the most expensive residential sale in the area.

Previously, the highest known sale was a mansion on Star Island sold by developer Vladimir Doronin in 2025 for $120 million (approximately 824 million RMB at current exchange rates).

According to Bloomberg, the seller of this property is celebrity plastic surgeon Aaron Rollins and his wife Marine. The property is an unfinished luxury home located at 7 Indian Creek Island Road.

Reports say that Jill Hertzberg and Danny Hertzberg from the Jill Zeder Group represented the seller in closing this deal.

“This is the highest sale in Miami so far. It might seem like an outlier, but based on other properties and offers on the market, I believe we will see many transactions exceeding $100 million,” said Danny Hertzberg.

The estate, covering about 2 acres (approximately 8,094 square meters), was designed both inside and out by architect and designer Ferris Rafauli.

Initially, the plan was for a building with about 30,000 square feet (roughly 2,787 square meters), featuring 9 bedrooms, a dock, swimming pool, gym, hair salon, massage room, a 1,500-gallon (about 5,678 liters) aquarium, and a library with a secret passage. The property was listed in November 2025 at $200 million.

According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Zuckerberg’s net worth is approximately $231 billion (note: current exchange rate roughly 1.59 trillion RMB). He began searching for property on Indian Creek Island weeks ago. The deal was officially completed this Monday, March 2. Zuckerberg’s representatives declined to comment.

This purchase comes amid California’s proposal for a “billionaire tax,” which has prompted more Silicon Valley billionaires to buy property in Miami. Google co-founder Larry Page also spent $1.88 billion on three properties there, and co-founder Sergey Brin is purchasing a $50 million home in Miami Beach.

Zuckerberg’s new neighbors on Indian Creek Island include Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, renowned investor Carl Icahn, and former NFL star quarterback Tom Brady.

The island itself is an independent jurisdiction, with roads, a country club, and golf courses not open to the public, earning it the nickname “Billionaire Bunker.” It has only about 41 lots and around 84 residents, with high privacy. Private security patrols the island by land, water, and air, and it is accessible only via a guarded bridge.

Notably, Zuckerberg and his wife already own extensive properties, including in Palo Alto and Lake Tahoe, Washington D.C., and on Kauai in Hawaii. Their property on Kauai, “Ko olaupoko Ranch,” spans over 2,300 acres and is valued at about $300 million (roughly 2.061 billion RMB).
