Cathay Pacific: Full-year net profit increases by 9.5% as Middle East situation changes market demand pattern

Caixin.com Under the continued recovery of the aviation industry, Cathay Pacific’s performance has steadily increased for three consecutive years. On March 11, Cathay Pacific (00293.HK) announced its full-year 2025 results, with total revenue of HKD 116.766 billion, an 11.9% increase year-on-year. The profit attributable to shareholders reached HKD 10.828 billion, a 9.5% increase compared to 2024.

In 2025, Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Express together carried over 36 million passengers, a significant increase of 27% from 2024. The rise in passenger numbers is related to a substantial improvement in passenger capacity. In early 2025, Cathay Pacific’s passenger capacity fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels, and the airline also opened 20 new routes. Currently, its passenger network covers over 100 destinations worldwide. In terms of freight, Cathay Cargo’s annual cargo volume exceeded 1.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of over 9%.
