The Party Secretary and Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Han Jun, presided over a meeting of the Party Leadership Group on the 13th. The meeting emphasized the need to thoroughly study and understand, from the strategic height of accelerating agricultural and rural modernization and building a strong agricultural country, the importance and urgency of developing future industries. It called for comprehensive and systematic planning in conjunction with the “14th Five-Year Plan” to inject new momentum into accelerating agricultural and rural modernization. The meeting insisted on “industry sets the questions, science and technology provides the answers,” focusing on key areas such as biological breeding, artificial intelligence, and agricultural robots. It urged concentrated efforts to tackle joint research challenges and accelerate breakthroughs in key core technologies. The meeting also called for all-round strengthening of policy support and guidance services, promoting deep integration of technological innovation and industrial development, vigorously cultivating leading agricultural science and technology enterprises, establishing a number of pilot verification bases and industrial incubation platforms, speeding up the transformation and application of agricultural scientific and technological achievements, and implementing large-scale application actions for new agricultural technologies, products, and scenarios.
